Construction of minimum power grid in 66 cities in southern power grid business zone

Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan, which are operated by China Southern Power Grid Corporation, are located in the areas with high incidence of natural disasters such as typhoon, low temperature, freezing rain and snow. In order to cope with extreme weather and other disasters, China Southern Power Grid Corporation has basically built a minimum power grid covering 66 cities in five southern provinces, with 147 guaranteed power supply units. It has built a comprehensive defense and guarantee system with four lines of Defense: "large power grid liaison support, guaranteed power supply hierarchical and partition self balance, user provided emergency power supply and emergency mobile power supply supplement", It will maximize the power supply for important loads and people's livelihood in important cities under extreme weather and other disasters, and make every effort to ensure no power outage and less power outage in urban core areas and key users.

China Southern Power Grid Corporation continued to strengthen the channel construction of "cable line + indoor station" in Guangdong, Hainan and other cities in class I coastal strong wind area, formulated the roadmap of cabled and indoor construction (transformation) of minimum power grid in strong wind area, accelerated the cabled transformation of minimum power line and indoor transformation of minimum power substation, and made efforts to improve the wind and disaster prevention ability of power grid. By the end of 2020, 7 220 kV "cable lines + indoor stations" channels have been initially formed, and 99 km of new cable lines have been built.

In terms of emergency power supply construction, 17 disaster resistant power supplies with black start or isolated island operation capability have been added in the five southern provinces, of which 7 have been put into operation or transformed in 2020, with an installed capacity of 3.87 million kilowatts.

At the same time, the power supply support capability of China Southern Power Grid to Hong Kong and Macao was further improved. In terms of power supply to Hong Kong, the "two lines and one station" project in Shekou has been completed and put into operation, realizing the power supply from Shekou power grid to Shenzhen power grid, comprehensively completing the wind proof reinforcement and transformation of seven circuits involving Hong Kong and nuclear power lines, strengthening the operation and maintenance control of substations and key equipment involved in Hong Kong, and effectively promoting the economic and social prosperity and stable development of Hong Kong. In terms of power supply to Macao, the "3 + 2" power supply network for Macao will be built in accordance with the principle of "systematicness, integrity and scientificity", so as to achieve the construction goal of uninterrupted power supply channel and no reduction of power supply capacity for Macao in case of typhoon with a return period of 50 years.

During the 13th Five Year Plan period, China Southern Power Grid Corporation has completed 247 minimum power grid construction projects. 147 disaster resistant power sources have been set up in the five southern provinces, with a total installed capacity of 77.19 million kilowatts, covering hydropower, coal power, gas power and pumped storage, initially forming a diversified security pattern of "water gas storage".
