Vietnam establishes National Power Development Steering Committee

Vietnamese Prime Minister fan Mingzheng signed decision 1410 / QD tTG on August 17, 2021 to improve the National Power Development Steering Committee (Steering Committee) to assist the prime minister in guiding the formulation and implementation of the national power development plan and key power projects.
According to the decision, Vice Premier Li Wencheng of the Vietnamese government served as the director of the National Power Development Steering Committee.
The deputy directors of the Steering Committee include:
1 / Ruan Hongyan, Minister of industry and trade (Executive Vice Minister).
2 / Mr. Gao Chuncheng, former assistant Prime Minister of the government.
3 / Deng Huang'an, Vice Minister of industry and trade.
4 / Vice Minister of construction Li Guangxiong.
5 / Hu Shixiong, vice chairman of state owned Capital Management Committee of enterprises.
Members include:
1 / Ruan Gaolu, deputy director of the general office of the government.
2 / Wu Chengtong, Vice Minister of planning and investment.
3 / Xie Yingjun, Vice Minister of finance.
4 / Wu Junren, Vice Minister of natural resources and environment.
5 / Ruan huangxia, Vice Minister of agriculture and rural development.

Depending on the actual situation, the director of the steering committee may invite the leaders of some institutions (National Assembly committee, ministries, departments and local) to serve as members of the steering committee, or require the leaders of ministries, departments and local governments to attend the meeting and report necessary issues.
The task of the steering committee is to guide, inspect and urge the formulation of the national power development plan, invest in the construction of power and power grid projects in the national power development plan / plan approved by the prime minister, especially the key projects according to the suggestions of the Ministry of industry and trade (approved by the prime minister according to the suggestions of the prime minister), so as to ensure sufficient power supply for the national socio-economic development.
In addition, guide, inspect and supervise the implementation of policies such as foreign power purchase and renewable energy development; Guide, inspect and supervise the construction investment of coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) import infrastructure and the negotiation of coal and LNG import contracts for power projects.
At the same time, guide relevant ministries and commissions, provincial people's committees, investors, domestic and foreign consulting institutions and contractors to perform their duties and ensure the construction progress and project quality; Guide and coordinate relevant departments and local governments to solve the difficulties encountered in compensation, resettlement, resettlement and demolition of power projects.
