Operation of phase modulation unit of the highest altitude power grid in China

Recently, after a series of commissioning and 168 hours of trial operation, the first phase modulation unit of Lhasa converter station of Qinghai Tibet DC interconnection project has been officially put into operation.

It is understood that this is the phase modulation unit with the highest altitude in China. After the project is put into operation, it will significantly improve the voltage stability level of Tibet power grid, increase the power supply capacity of Lhasa load center by 16% on the existing basis, and further improve the safe and stable operation level and power supply guarantee capacity of Tibet power grid.

It is reported that the condenser is the "stabilizer" and "ballast" for the safe operation of the large power grid. It plays an important role in automatically and quickly adjusting the system voltage, improving the safety and stability level of the power grid and improving the power supply quality of the system.

In recent years, with the economic and social development of Tibet, the demand for electricity has been growing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safe and stable operation of the power grid. In order to ensure the safe, stable and reliable operation of the large power grid, the Lhasa dimmer project has been put into construction, with a total investment of 233 million yuan. Two dimmers with - 50 Mvar to + 100 Mvar reactive power regulation capacity have been installed, realizing the digitization of equipment detection and the automation of unit operation and maintenance.

During the project construction, State Grid Tibet Electric Power Co., Ltd. overcame various adverse factors, and ensured the smooth and stable operation of the project by sending more professionals to the site for supervision in key links, coordinating and solving project construction problems in time, and strictly controlling the construction quality and progress.
