The maximum load of positive and negative 800 kV high-voltage Yanmenguan converter station in our province has reached 5993 MW, of which new energy accounts for nearly 35%, close to 2100 MW.
As the first UHV converter station of Shanxi power grid, Shanxi Yanmenguan converter station of state grid provides a strong guarantee for the implementation of the national "west to East power transmission" strategy. Since it was put into operation on June 30, 2017, the cumulative outward power transmission has reached 114 billion kwh, with a power transmission capacity of about 40 million tons of electric coal, equivalent to the transportation capacity of 670000 freight trains. Thanks to the transmission of clean electric energy, it has reduced 104 million tons of carbon dioxide, 7.97 million tons of carbon dust, 330000 tons of sulfur dioxide and 290000 tons of nitrogen oxides in East China since it was put into operation. The environmental and social benefits are extremely significant.
Over the past five years, Yanmenguan converter station has continuously "bundled" the abundant thermal power and wind power in the northern part of our province to Jiangsu, greatly improved the consumption level of new energy in Shanxi power grid, and effectively solved the problem of abandonment of new energy grid.
In addition, in order to ensure the safe and stable operation of Yanmenguan converter station, State Grid Shanxi electric power took the "triple system construction" of cultivating safety culture system, upgrading governance system and building modern equipment management system as an opportunity to deepen the application of new technologies such as expert diagnosis system, mobile application app and intelligent error prevention device, vigorously promote the upgrading of intelligent operation inspection system, strengthen the on-site technical support capacity, and greatly enhance the reliability of power grid equipment, It ensures the safety and smoothness of the "expressway" for clean energy consumption in Shanxi and Jiangsu.
