Guodian power won the development right of Xinjiang Hejing pumped storage power station project

On April 28, the people's Government of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region issued the letter of acceptance for the Hejing pumped storage power station project. Guodian Power Development Co., Ltd. won the bid and obtained the project development right. This is also the first pumped storage project obtained by Guodian power in Xinjiang, which is of great significance for accelerating the construction of new power system and promoting the development of renewable energy.
Hejing pumped storage power station is located in Hejing County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. The planned installed capacity of the power station is 1800 MW. The estimated total investment of the project is about 10 billion yuan. The power station initially plans to have a normal pool level of 2430 meters for the upper reservoir, 1786 meters for the lower reservoir and 8 million cubic meters for the regulation reservoir.
The power station has been listed in the national medium and long term development plan for pumped storage (2021-2035). It is not only a key implementation project of the 14th five year plan of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, but also a key project in the planning of 10 million kilowatt "water light storage integration" large clean energy base in Kaidu River Basin and Northern Bazhou. The project development is of great significance. The research on investment opportunities of the project was completed by Xinjiang Kaidu River Basin Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. of national energy group in 2021.
